A version control system is not just a useful tool for a developer, it should be considered an invaluable asset for any project even down to the smallest website. This session will be an introduction to version control and specifically the Subversion version control system commonly known as SVN. The goal of this session is to give attendees a good understanding and practical application of SVN and how it can help to increase your productivity and save you some big headaches in a variety of situations.

We will get started with SVN basics such as creating a repository, checking out a working copy, making updates and commits and general daily use. We'll cover effective repository layouts using a Drupal site as our example and cover what you should and should not keep in your repository and why.
